Australia's first permanent makeup artists conference

Kicking off on the sunny Gold Coast of Queensland, Cosmetic Tattoo aficionados Georgie Westley and Jessika Brigginshaw brought Australia's first permanent makeup artists conference to life for 2019.

In a professional development workshop as students, the pair turned to each other with wide eyes and thought 'why not?!', when discussing the idea of creating and launching the event.

"We wanted to bring cosmetic tattoo artists together to show support for our industry which requires skill and talent to be a part of." Co-Founder, Georgie Westley.

365 days of planning later, the Australian Permanent Makeup Artists Conference, otherwise known as A.P.M.A.C, featured both Australian and international talent to a sold out crowd of 150 attendees.

Guests were educated and entertained, with activations such as live technique demonstrations, business and mindset building seminars, question and answer speaker panels, as well as a gala dinner complete with award ceremony to finalise the celebrations.

Featuring artists included the likes of industry icon Val Glover, International cosmetic tattooist Teryn Darling all the way from Las Vegas via skype, smoky lash enhancement guru Will Anthony and powder brow specialist Suzie Mcintosh, Specialising in niche techniques and broadening our skill set saw Caitlin James on the subject of scalp micropigmentation, as well as Melissa Brockfield for her signature lip blush application.

Co-Founder Jessika Brigginshaw was delighted by the response saying 'the attendees have been so engaged and are already asking when the next event is!'. As per high demand, the conference will be returning in 2020, and tickets have now been released and can be purchased on the A.P.M.A.C website.

A seamless launch event, the Australian Permanent Makeup Artists Conference is one every budding or expert tattoo artist should be marking down on their event calendar for the new year.
