Aesthetic and medical-grade technology leaders The Global Beauty Group have joined forces with biotech innovators FB Dermatology to bring Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE) treatments to clinics across Australia and New Zealand.

We’ve been using energy-based devices to promote healing and increase cell permeability for decades, as as our scientific knowledge and technological prowess continues to develop in this field, so too do our skin treatments. The Global Beauty Group are constantly surprising our industry with these kinds of advancements in energy-based devices for therapeutic skin treatments, and today we’re going to walk you through their latest.

LED light therapy has continued to make massive strides in our industry, and has really established itself as a must-have treatment, both standalone and as an add-on, in the majority of skin-focused salons and clinics around the country. And with such incredible results and years of research behind it, how can we be surprised? However, with the majority of skin clinics now offering LED on the menu, many businesses are trying to find ways in which they can make their LED services stand out, and elevate the results even further for their clients. If this is you, we may just have a solution!

The Global Beauty Group have teamed up with FB Dermatology, the makers of Kleresca, to bring us a game-changer in skin-glowing technology. Introducing Lumixa, a product designed to be combined with LED light therapy in order to create Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE). Lumixa is a biophotonic topical gel, which contains a fluorophore that is activated when placed under a 415nm – 465nm wavelength (blue) LED light. A flurophore (which you may have already Googled by now!) is a molecule that has the ability to absorb photons of light at a certain wavelength, upon which its electrons go into an excited state, and then re-emit that light at a higher wavelength than that of the original source. The result is the production of Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE), which; as The Global Beauty Group tells us, has been shown to stimulate the skin’s own repair mechanisms to heal at the cellular level.

FLE acts within the different layers of the skin simultaneously, meaning clients can enjoy the benefits of multiple wavelengths of light energy at once on both the epidermal and dermal layers, up to 6mm deep. The following popular LED light therapy wavelengths are commonly used for these properties:
• Blue Light – Targets bacteria and has anti‑inflammatory effects
• Green Light – Targets fibroblasts and induces healing processes
• Yellow Light – Reduces redness, swelling and boosts circulation
• Red Light – Boosts blood circulation and increases collagen production

Treatments with Lumixa enhance the fibroblast’s ability to increase collagen production, correct ‘Inflammageing’, target the intrinsic signs of ageing and reactivate the skin matrix. In-vitro data tells us that when Blue LED light is used in conjunction with the Lumixa Collagen Booster, it resulted in a significant increase in collagen production at 72 hours, compared to baseline.
